Twin Cities youth are hurting. Recent events have exposed disparities that keep kids of color at risk. We believe there is a deep need and desire for people to come together to talk, to laugh, to listen, to learn and to play.
“We want this tournament to be an inclusive experience that brings people from all backgrounds to the north side neighborhood to help our communities heal,” Houston White, tournament co-director.
Houston White is an entrepreneurial clothing designer and business owner with a deep appreciation of the authentic connections he has made through his love of golf.
John Baker is a long-time educator, owner of JLD Group and founder of All Star 100, a youth athletics program created to put the love back into youth sports.
Both grew up in North Minneapolis and are driven to connect corporate leaders with community in ways that have the potential for making change.
The Minneapolis Foundation will help process and distribute money raised during the Be The Change Golf Tournament. Checks can be written to The Minneapolis Foundation, write “Be the Change Fund” in the memo line or letter attached to the check.
